Membership Categories and Rules
a) General Members:
Any person of legal age who is willing to contribute to the objectives of the Society may become a member. Such a person must pay the fees and other dues as determined by the Executive Committee.
b) Associate Members:
Individuals, associations, or groups committed to development may be admitted as Associate Members by the Executive Committee. Associate Members do not have voting rights.
c) Founder Members:
The Founder Members of the Society are individuals who are signatories to the Memorandum of the Society and whose names are recorded in the Roll of Members maintained as of the date of the Society’s registration under Act XXI of 1860.
d) Volunteer Members:
Enthusiastic individuals committed to fulfilling the objectives of the Society may be admitted as Volunteer Members by the Executive Committee. Volunteer Members do not have voting rights, and no admission fee is required.
Membership Register
The Society shall maintain a register of members, which shall be open for inspection by Members and/or Officers on any working day between 10 A.M. and 5 P.M. at the Society’s office. Inspection shall be allowed upon payment of fees and submission of notice as prescribed by the Society.
Voting Rights and Membership Rules
- Each General Member of the Society is entitled to one vote.
- Members with subscription dues in arrears are not entitled to vote.
- A person shall cease to be a member of the Society under the following conditions:
- Failing to pay arrears for one consecutive year.
- Death or resignation.
- Permanent incapacity or being declared of unsound mind by the Executive Committee.
- Engagement in activities against the interests of the Society, upon which the Executive Committee may expel the member.
